Terms of Service.

The rules for using RoundTrips. Plain language, no pages of block caps.

Last updated: April 20, 2026 Questions? partnership@thehowtonetwork.com

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of RoundTrips, operated by The HowTo Network. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service — simple as that.

01The agreement.

RoundTrips is a group-travel planning tool. We provide the software; you and your crew provide the trip. These Terms set out what you can expect from us and what we expect from you.

You must be at least 13 years old to use RoundTrips. If you're under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

By using the service, you also agree to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

02Accounts.

Registration

You need an account to create or join trips. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your credentials confidential. One account per person — no shared logins.

Your responsibility

You're responsible for everything that happens on your account, including anything posted by people you've shared credentials with. If you suspect unauthorized access, email us immediately.

Accuracy

Keep your profile information current. If you change your email, update it — we may lose the ability to reach you otherwise.

03Trips & sharing.

Your trips, your data

Anything you create on RoundTrips — itineraries, expenses, notes, photos — belongs to you. We claim no ownership of your trip content. We do, however, need a license to display it to you and your trip-mates, back it up, and run the service.

License you grant us

You grant RoundTrips a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display your trip content for the purpose of operating the service. This license ends when you delete the content (subject to reasonable backup retention windows).

Public trips

If you mark a trip as public or publish it to the Explore library, you additionally grant other users the right to view and fork it. You can unpublish at any time, but copies already forked will remain with their new owners.

04Forking & reuse.

Forking is how the library works — one user's trip becomes a starting point for someone else's. A few ground rules:

  • Credit is preserved. Forked trips show attribution to the original author until a significant threshold of changes is made.
  • You can modify freely. Once you fork, the copy is yours to edit, share, or keep private.
  • You can't misrepresent. Don't claim you wrote something you didn't, and don't remove attribution in bad faith.
  • Fair use. If another user forks yours and dramatically rewrites it into something new, that's the point. Don't send takedowns over good-faith forks.

05Acceptable use.

Don't use RoundTrips to do any of the following, and don't help anyone else do them either:

  • Violate any law, regulation, or third-party right.
  • Post content that is illegal, threatening, harassing, defamatory, hateful, sexually explicit, or promotes violence.
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
  • Upload malware, run automated scripts that burden the service, or attempt to probe/scan/test the vulnerability of our systems.
  • Reverse-engineer the service, bypass rate limits, or extract data in bulk.
  • Spam — unsolicited promotional content, mass invitations, or commercial solicitations in trip content.
  • Resell the service or any part of it without our written permission.

We may remove content and suspend accounts that violate these rules. We will try to give notice and a chance to fix things, but for severe violations we may act immediately.

06Affiliate links.

Some links from RoundTrips to external booking partners (e.g., Viator, G Adventures, Booking.com) are affiliate links. If you click through and book, RoundTrips may earn a commission. This does not change the price you pay and helps keep the service free. We only link to partners we think are worth using.

08Liability limits.

Service is provided "as is"

RoundTrips is a planning tool. We do not operate flights, hotels, tours, or any travel service. We do our best to make the product reliable, but we make no warranties that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose.

Travel decisions are yours

You and your crew are responsible for every booking, reservation, and decision made using RoundTrips. We don't verify prices, availability, visa requirements, or safety information. Double-check before you book.

Limit on damages

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RoundTrips and The HowTo Network are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or lost opportunity arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or $100, whichever is greater).

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RoundTrips and The HowTo Network from any claim arising out of your use of the service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

09Termination.

Your right to leave

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Your personal data is removed within 30 days (subject to the retention carve-outs in our Privacy Policy). Trips you published publicly may persist in anonymized form if other users have forked them.

Our right to suspend

We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially violate these Terms, if required by law, or if continued operation would put other users at risk. We'll give notice where practical.

What survives

Sections on Liability, Indemnification, and Disputes survive termination.

10Disputes & governing law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to the service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Fulton County, Georgia, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

Before filing any formal claim, you agree to first contact us at partnership@thehowtonetwork.com and attempt to resolve the issue informally for at least 30 days. Most things can be sorted out by email.

11Changes to these Terms.

We may update these Terms over time. If changes are material, we'll notify account holders by email and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the new Terms. If you don't agree, stop using the service and delete your account.
